Since the dawn of the Space Age, the relatively new genre of Science Fiction has captured the attention of a new generation of audiences. Imaginative worlds like Star Trek, Star Wars, Warhammer 40,000, and many more have captivated audiences and are multi-billion-dollar industries. However, Sci-Fi shows have been lacking for a while now as studios are more inclined to make present-day drama based on blue-collar or, more recently, white-collar realities. But worry not, Apple TV has been constantly producing many great sci-fi shows. Here are some of the shows that Apple TV+ is currently showing.
For All Mankind

For All Mankind brings forth the question: What If the Soviets during the high of the Cold War managed to put a man on the moon first? After all, they are the ones who are ahead in the Space Race. Ronald D. Moore, famed writer of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Battlestar Galactica, explores this question.
All it takes is Sergei Korolev, the father of the Soviet space program, to survive a medical operation, and the rest is history.
Star City

Star City is the spin-off of For All Mankind based on a real location in Russia. In For All Mankind, the story aim squarly at the American response of being beaten to the moon and the subsequent scramble to reach for the stars. Star City explores the Russian side of the story. Just like in For All Mankind, the first season takes place right after the Soviets managed to put the first boot on the Moon. Of course, there is a stark difference between the American and Soviet way of doing things.
Silo

Based on the book series of the same name by Hugh Howey, Silo is a post-apocalyptic story in which humanity has retreated into a vast underground silo after a nuclear event. The series gets a lot more interesting as the world-building unfolds. People are living in a 120-story silo, but there are no elevators. Computers, if you can actually get one, are ancient by modern standards. Layers upon layers of mysteries unfold as the main characters try to question their world and the reason for their existence.
Pluribus

Tired from writing and developing bad guys’ characters in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Vince Gillian reimagined the zombie apocalypse. Mr Gillian is no stranger to science fiction, having cut his teeth in the X-Files and the spin-off Lone Gunman, imagine humans are turned into zombies. Instead of eating brains, they are … polite?
The drama ensues when the survivors of the alien virus that turn humanity into polite zombies have to cope with their new reality, when they are shown to be miserable and cynical before the calamities begin.
Severance

Having work in cooperate environment, there are many instances where one acts differently when at work and when on their personal time. Imagine taking the work/life balance to the extreme, where your work life does not know anything about your personal life.
In this world, a mysterious conglomerate has develop the Severance technology where you can “switch off” your personal life whenever you enter a specialized work area called the Severance floor. When on the Severance floor, a different personality will take over and do the work. So the big question is that new person that only appear in the work area is a real person or not? The drama is when the two person that occupies the same body started asking for the same right of use of the body.
Foundation

Foundation is taken from the famous book series by Isaac Asimov, one of the prolific writers of all time. The series is considered unadaptable because the story spans an entire galaxy over thousands of years and has no central character. Apple TV has obviously modified the storyline, of course, but they somehow managed to keep the theme alive and the formula that they use so far … works.
Invasion

Tale as old as time. An alien invasion force comes to conquer everything. Before this, it was the conquistadors. Now it’s aliens. The same story of an advanced army coming and taking over the natives has been told over and over again. In Invasion, the story of the alien invasion is seen through the eyes of ordinary humans who already have it rough before the invasion begins.
Dark Matter

Dark Matter explores the theory of the multiverse or alternate realities. A physicist in Chicago travels to an alternate reality after being abducted by his counterpart.
Conclusion
Apple TV, without a doubt, is carrying the sci-fi genre. It has multiple shows that are really good, high-quality, and definitely worth the subscription price. Other streamers might have 1 or 2 good shows, but Apple has several, and they are ongoing. What a time to be alive.
